Sweatshop have opened a new branch in Hanover Buildings, Southampton. The company, Brasher Leisure Ltd, have taken the former Yorkshire Building Society premises on a new 10 year FRI lease through retail agents Legat Owen and Osmond Brookes.

They have paid a rent of £40,000 pa for the ground floor shop of 1800 sq ft in the prestigious property where they are now open and trading.

Legat Owen are very pleased to announce that Eoghan Turner, Heather Johnston and Sarah McCune have all recently completed their training for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and are now fully qualified chartered surveyors.

All three surveyors undertook their training at Legat Owen with Heather joining as a graduate from Oxford Brooks University, Eoghan joining following a spell with a residential firm in Liverpool and Sarah joining as a graduate following a period at Lend Lease in London.

Eoghan now works in the Investment agency department with Heather in the Office Agency Department and Sarah in Property Management.

Seb Morris comfortably clinched the Ginetta Junior Championship 2011 at the 17th race of the year at Brands Hatch, with 3 races in hand. He won 11 of the 20 races outright and was on the podium on five further occasions.

Ginetta Junior racing is breathtaking to watch, as the 14 -17 year olds battle for track position with very close, very brave racing.

Having conquered this class as Champion of both the 2010 Winter Series and the 2011 Championship, Seb hopes to move to Formula Renault for 2012.

Legat Owen have been retained by Claire House to act on their behalf in the acquisition of new stores.

The charity, based at Clatterbridge Hospital on the Wirral, began life back in 1998 and now care for over 200 families in the Cheshire, North Wales, Merseyside and Isle of Man areas.

Claire House now trade from 20 shops and would like to acquire an additional 12 stores within the next 3 years. Towns of particular interest include all locations on the Wirral, Chester, Knutsford, Ormskirk, St Helens and Liverpool Suburbs.

Legat Owen have acquired a leasehold interest in a 170,000 sq ft high bay distribution warehouse at Wirral International Business Park, Bromborough on behalf of Great Bear Distribution. The property, which is due for completion later this year is being developed by Hampton Brook Estates. Constructed to a very high standard it will be BREEAM excellent.

Legat Owen acquired the 10.00 acre site from the North West Development Agency and also acted for Hampton Brook Estates in the forward sale of the investment to Wealth Management Group St James’s Place.

Leading property industry web site EGI has for the third year in succession awarded Legat Owen the EGI Deals Winner Award for Cheshire & North Wales. The award recognises the most active regional agent in Cheshire & North Wales over the previous 12 month period. Legat Owen previously won the award in 2008 and 2009.

Legat Owen were also awarded the title of Most Active Industrial Agent in the whole of Wales for 2010.

The Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Trust will use the facility primarily to train Trust staff but will also develop the delivery of training programmes for other organisations.

D Morgan PLC is one of the UK’s leading contractors in ground remediation, earth works, demolition and recycling.

The site comprised a former Community Hospital set within a landscaped environment on the outskirts of Caernarfon. The property extended to 22,500 sq ft on a site of 4.76 acres.

Mark Atherton has joined the company from Spencer Holdings to lead the building surveying team.

Mark has practical experience in dealing with general building surveying duties including construction and general management of works, statutory compliance issues, defect analysis and reporting, together with professional work on preparation on schedules of condition / dilapidation, party wall and neighbour dispute issues and establishment/supervision of PPM systems.
 
Additionally, Mark is a qualified asbestos surveyor and able to formulate appropriate identification reports and implement systems for control and management of asbestos under current legislation.
