Redsun Secures Consent At Hooton Park

Redsun has secured detailed planning consent for two buildings at Hooton Park in Ellesmere Port which will provide 325,000 sq ft and 125,000 sq ft of industrial space in the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone.

Hooton Park is already home to a number of high-profile occupiers including DHL, Jaguar Land Rover, and Vauxhall.

Redsun progressed the development through a Local Development Order put in place by Cheshire West and Chester Council, and the company’s director, Nick Wightman, said Redsun had submitted another detailed application at the site.

Designed by Fletcher Rae, the project, named Aviator, benefits from enhanced capital allowances against occupiers’ expenditure on plant and machinery within any new build facilities, due to its Enterprise Zone status.

The efficiency of this planning process has encouraged us to submit a further detailed application for alternative building sizes ranging between 125,000 and 150,000sqft.

We are confident that the occupier market remains strong, but speed of delivery is a key consideration for occupiers and so securing planning for a number of unit sizes, in addition to the enhanced capital allowances on offer should help to set Aviator apart from other schemes in the pipeline.

Knight Frank and Legat Owen are the agents for Aviator. The site was acquired by Redsun from Homes England in late 2017.
