Compliance

We provide a professional service within various aspects of property regulations and legislation. Our experts will be able to assist and guide you, whatever your project.

Asbestos Management Surveys

Asbestos in property is common and if it is not correctly managed, it presents a danger to all building users and those with responsibility for property maintenance should be fully aware of their obligations.

We can provide advice and asbestos management surveys to ensure any asbestos-containing materials are recorded with recommendations for action.

Party Wall Advice

The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 applies to all projects which involve the disturbance of a shared wall, construction on the boundary line or excavation in proximity to a neighbouring property. Our understanding of the Act provides us with the means to represent all parties in a way which protects the neighbouring properties whilst enabling work to progress in a legally compliant manner.

Planning & Building Regulations Advice

Before embarking on a new development or refurbishment it is crucial that the proposed work is fully compliant. From the outset, we can advise whether work will require submission of a planning application or building control and whether alternative designs should be considered to improve the suitability of the project. In addition, we can submit fully compliant applications to the relevant local authority on your behalf.

Health & Safety / CDM Advice

Over recent years site safety has seen significant improvement through training and improved design. Within our project roles and survey reports, we ensure all aspects of health & safety are addressed during the construction phase and on into building occupancy. Our knowledge and experience enable us to act in the roles of Designer and Principal Designer under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.

Boundary Disputes

Over the course of time boundaries can often become poorly defined through the movement of physical features, in addition, statutory records may be inconclusive. Through a variety of on-site inspection techniques and thorough analysis of documentation, we can provide a non-partisan view on the actual boundary line with detailed explanation.

Expert Witness

Our experienced Chartered Building Surveyors can provide full unbiased opinions within reports and presentations to those contemplating or currently involved in legal disputes whether that be litigation or alternative dispute resolution. We can offer a professional opinion on our full range of services in compliance with the civil procedure rules.
