Wagg Foods bound into Bodelwyddan

Acting on behalf of Welsh Government, Legat Owen have completed the sale of Unit 2, Kinmel Park, Royal Welch Avenue, Bodelwyddan to Wagg Foods.

The property will be used by their subsidiary The Real Pet Food Company to manufacture baked pet treats and premium pet biscuits.

The building which extends to 158,398 sq ft and is situated on a site of 8.24 acres originally formed part of the former Hotpoint manufacturing facility which was acquired by Welsh Government to facilitate the relocation and expansion of locally based automotive parts manufacturer Reflex & Allen.

Director Stephen Wade commented:

The sale of Unit 2 Kinmel Park is one of the final elements of the disposal of the former Hotpoint Factory which was acquired by Welsh Government in order to facilitate the relocation of Reflex & Allen to Unit 1. It serves to reinforce the role that the Welsh Government has to play in acting as a facilitator for complex property transactions in North Wales.

Denbighshire County Council should be congratulated for the pro-active way in which they engaged with the purchaser and responded to their initial request for detailed information in relation to the building and surrounding areas.
