Ground Breaking At Cheshire Green Industrial Park

A ground-breaking ceremony has taken place to mark the official start of construction on site at Cheshire Green Industrial Park. The announcement follows on from the £3.2million funding agreement awarded by the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) earlier this year.

Phillip Posnett, director of Cheshire Green was joined by: MP for Eddisbury, Antoinette Sandbach; Jones Brothers’ chairman Huw Jones, which is the main contractor for the scheme; Stephen Kinsey and Howard Hopwood from Cheshire and Warrington LEP. Also in attendance were joint agents for the project, Matthew Pochin, director at Legat Owen and Edward Clark, partner at Fisher German and Hannah Cross project manager at GVA.

The works will see the construction of a roundabout off the A51, which will provide much improved access to the wider motorway network.

Situated at Wardle between the NWF Group site and Green Lane Industrial Estate and six miles from Crewe and 15 miles from Chester, Cheshire Green comprises a 150-acre site, which has outline planning consent for 1.35million sq ft industrial accommodation.

Speaking about the start of works on site, Phillip Posnett, director of Cheshire Green Industrial Park, commented:

There has been a huge amount of collaboration between the public and private sector in helping the creation of Cheshire Green and I would like to thank all those involved who have enabled us to reach this point. With construction now underway, we are looking to bring forward the next phases of development, which will include land sales and the opportunity to construct buildings from 10,000 sq ft upwards.

Antoinette Sandbach MP for Eddisbury commented:

Cheshire Green is a significant development which will greatly benefit the South Cheshire region. Any project which helps to keep young people rooted in Cheshire and gives them the opportunity to grow must be welcomed and we look forward to seeing how the scheme develops.
