James’ Place – Legat Owen Nominated Charity

We are pleased to confirm we have chosen James’ Place as our nominated charity for this year and will be undertaking fundraising activities in order to raise money for James Place.

James’ Place is an initiative formed by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley, as part of the James Wentworth-Stanley Memorial Fund which they founded in 2008, after they tragically lost their twenty-one-year-old son, James, to suicide, ten days following a minor operation. James’ Place was set up to support and listen to men who would like to talk and share how they are feeling, with people who understand and care, during their time of need.

In June 2018, HRH The Duke of Cambridge opened James’ Place, the first Centre of its kind in the UK, in Liverpool and since August they have supported over 100 men and counting through their suicidal crisis.
