Legat Owen Sells Anglesey Site For New Affordable Housing Scheme

Acting on behalf of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, we have completed the sale of a 4.2-acre residential site in Llangefni, Anglesey to Clwyd Alyn Housing Association.

The site, which benefitted from outline planning permission, will see the development of a mixed tenure affordable housing scheme delivering approximately 68 dwellings.

Speaking about the acquisition, Clwyd Alyn’s Executive Director of Development, Craig Sparrow commented:

We are dedicated to providing high quality affordable homes across North and Mid-Wales. We will be working with The Isle of Anglesey County Council and Welsh Government over the coming months to deliver another distinctive development providing an excellent housing option for local people.

The purchase has been made possible thanks to Welsh Government funding and partnership support with The Isle of Anglesey County Council.

The sale forms part of a site wide redevelopment strategy which has this week seen the opening of a new £13.6m engineering centre on the Llangefni Campus. The Canolfan STeM centre was officially opened by First Minister Mark Drakeford and will now deliver a range of advanced engineering skills and training to local students.

Stephen Wade, director at Legat Owen commented:

We are pleased to have supported Grŵp Llandrillo Menai in the sale of the site to Clwyd Alyn. The buyer is one of the leading social housing providers in the region and we are confident that they will deliver a first-class product for the residents of Anglesey.

Grŵp Llandrillo Menai Executive Director Kath Coughlin continued:

The early sale of plots two and three delivers another phase of our ambitious site wide college redevelopment programme. The funds secured from the sale will continue to be reinvested in the college to further enhance our student learning experience.

The site was sold for an undisclosed sum.
